Photos: Green River, Yampa River, Echo Park and Dinosaur National Monument, September 2020

This page features ground-based photos of the Green River, Yampa River and Echo Park in Dinosaur National Monument.

Echo Park, which lies at the confluence of the Green and Yampa, is where a dam was proposed in the 1950s as part of the Colorado River Storage Project. Opposition from environmentalists stopped the proposal, which also included a smaller dam downstream on the Green, but the compromise led to the construction of Glen Canyon Dam in northern Arizona.
