Scott Franz, KUNC

Scott Franz is KUNC's water and environment reporter. He started his journalism career as a watchdog reporter in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He previously served as KUNC's statehouse and investigative reporter. Scott received his journalism degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He enjoys flyfishing and long-distance hiking. He especially likes to hike the loop trails around Pacific Northwest volcanos with his partner, Holly. He spoke his first word, 'outside', as a toddler in Edmonds, Washington. Scott visits the Great Sand Dunes, his favorite Colorado backpacking destination, twice a year.
